Strip planking in western red cedar became a popular construction method in the 1980's and largely replaced cold molding or double and triple diagonal planking in timber veneers which was the most common way of building round bilge timber boats at that time.
In recent times strip planking has been used a lot with foam/glass and carbon/glass composites.
In this Guide we discuss the process of strip planking and provide some tips to help streamline the process.
