Trimaran Libra Volonte-01

Libra Volonte

Libra Volonte was the second of two TR10 trimarans built at Simon Rhebergen's yard in Amsterdam, following five years after the construction of Hugo van Wieringen's Aquarius which was built in 1996.

Libra Volonte was built for Arno Pont in vacuum laminated foam, glass and carbon with a number of modifications to the original design including higher buoyancy floats, increasing the flare in the main hull, lengthening the boat 300mm and slightly increasing the headroom.

Libra Volonte was fitted for cruising but featured a carbon boom, bow pole and rotating carbon mast.

In a recent email from Arno he expressed his satisfaction with Libra Volonte and with some regret informed us that he and Marianne are putting her up for sale and considering something in the same size range with a bit more creature comfort and a less accent on performance.

Arno comments:

We have sailed the last 15 years in her true performance cruising style, first in Scotland and later years in Norway where we moved to and still live.

She has truly fit the design brief at the time and we never had a boat with so much sailing pleasure. Structure wise she is solid, stiff and well constructed. Hard to let her go.

Arno tells that the interior photos are current  (April 2018) and she appears to be in immaculate condition after 15 years of cruising.
